> Meg Deasley, Housing & Regeneration Consultant

Meg DeasleyMeg is a Housing & Regeneration Consultant with DCL and holds an MSc in City Design and Social Science and a BSc in Architecture.  She is experienced in a range of master planning and regeneration approaches and is interested in the role that social and economic aspects of communities play in shaping the built environment. 

Prior to joining DCL, Meg worked for the City of Edinburgh Council in Housing and Regeneration on the regeneration and renewal of some of the city’s most deprived council estates, working closely with residents and other local stakeholders to plan new investment.

Meg has particular experience in:

  • Community Engagement & Stakeholder Consultation
  • Regeneration & Private Home Ownership
  • Master planning
  • Urban Regeneration

Experience Includes:

  • Owner Liaison for all private housing aspects within a major RSL mixed tenure stock transfer & regeneration project.
  • Project manager for several local authority regeneration areas focusing on the replacement of poor quality housing stock and sustainable redevelopment options.
  • Working with local stakeholders to develop investment opportunities in regeneration areas.
  • Working with homeowners facing demolition in regeneration areas and Communities Scotland to adapt the Homestake Pilot to their situation and helped several purchase property through the scheme.
  • Project manager for scoping studies, feasibility studies and evaluating master planning options on behalf of Local Authorities to arrive at clear and concise recommendations.
  • Project management of an options appraisal and delivery plan for the future use of a large public building.
