Les Milne, Associate

Les is a housing professional with a broad range of experience in policy development, management planning and project implementation in the local authority and housing association sectors.

He has worked directly for many years with tenants, residents and elected local authority and housing association governing body members. He has devised and managed large-scale investment strategies and programmes as well as many localised projects.  Les has also been a line manager and leader of diverse teams of housing services staff.

In a housing career spanning over 30 years, Les worked as a development officer in some of the most deprived areas of the Glasgow before becoming a housing manager and then a senior manager developing the city’s housing plans throughout the 1990s.  In 2000, he was seconded to the Glasgow Housing Association’s implementation team, developing key intelligence as part of the Business Plan before taking up a new challenge in GHA’s governance team, which included the co-ordination GHA’s first inspection, and production of its improvement plan.

Les is an able analyst who can translate, simplify and summarise complex information, in order to assist clients to deliver their objectives. His most recent commission with DCL is a comprehensive governance and strategic review for a community based housing association in the East End of Glasgow. He is currently a voluntary management committee member of Partick Housing Association and a non-executive director of Partick Works Ltd, its development subsidiary arm.
